I Can't Quit You

When I moved from Seattle to LA, I was incredibly homesick for PNW nature. When I drove up to Seattle after my first year in LA and saw solid, gray stone mountains and verdant woods, I surprised myself by suddenly bursting into tears. Mountains and forest speak to my heart, so it's no wonder when I follow my intuition, they show up. But oddly, this alpine scene looks more California than PNW to me. I will always long for the evergreens and 360-mountain views in Washington, but I also now hold LA in my heart. This transition deeply shaped me - I've grown beyond my past, accepted my present, and am now able to hold it all together as I move into my future with hope. I would not be the same person today if I had never moved.
